GENERATION MOCA

Generation MOCA is a committee of young professionals whose mission is to advocate for the arts in support of Virginia MOCA’s mission. The purpose of Generation MOCA is to promote the interests of Virginia MOCA through fundraising and volunteer work. The committee also works to increase Virginia MOCA’s presence in the community, promote museum membership, and cultivate the future leaders of the organization.

Generation MOCA’s first major fundraising push came in the form of an inaugural event called “ARTini” which took place at the museum in May of 2013. This partnership with a national spirits distributor brought together 10 area restaurants, challenging each to create a signature “ARTini” which was reflective of their restaurant’s unique flair, along with a piece of art. The event featured live music and “ARTini” samplings and food pairings from each participating restaurant. The art pieces were also auctioned off to raise funds for Virginia MOCA.

For more information on Generation MOCA, please contact Frances Loyer, at frances@virginiamoca.org or 757-425-0000 x324.
