MOCA invites you to join exhibiting artist Matt Eich for a Master Class inspired by his artistic viewpoint. This unique and personal experience is a fabulous way for participants to have one-on-one interaction with a contemporary artist.
In this workshop students will explore the use of photography as a tool to journal and document personal experiences. Utilizing his own artistic process as a jumping off point, Eich will assist students in capturing a moment and a feeling through the medium of photography. Throughout the course of the day, students will have a chance to document their community with their unique perspective by leaving the museum for a photo session in Virginia Beach. At the end of the day, images are reviewed in one-on-one and group discussions. Whether you are an experienced photographer or a novice interested in taking photos with meaning, this workshop will give you a unique new perspective you can use in your own work. Students should already be familiar with the camera they bring to this workshop, whether it is a point-and-shoot camera or a digital SLR.
Please note that this is an all-day workshop, so please bring a lunch. A light breakfast will be provided.
