Curiosity ARTlab
AGES 2–5 (WITH CAREGIVER)
5 Sessions

Bring your littlest artist to the Museum for some hands-on fun. Explore the ARTlab at Virginia MOCA and create artwork inspired by what you find! Together, we’ll learn to paint a mural and make photo props, amongst other exciting activities. This program helps build creativity and school readiness by encouraging sensory exploration, process-based learning, discovery, and fine motor skill development.
*A caregiver, parent, or guardian must be present for the duration of this class.

Summer Colors
AGES 2–5 (WITH CAREGIVER)
5 Sessions
Instructor: Bria Tyler
Summertime is all about color! Together, we’ll read Summer Color! by Diana Murray and experiment with a variety of art materials and techniques to create mini artworks inspired by the story. Young artists and their caregivers will work with paper, paint, popsicle sticks, fabric scraps, and more, as we learn to cut, group, arrange, and attach them to construct a large collage.

All Mixed Up!
AGES 2–5 (WITH CAREGIVER)
5 Sessions
Instructor: Bria Tyler
Together, we’ll experiment with drawing, painting, fibers, and collage as we take apart, rearrange, and combine found objects and materials to create mixed media works of art! Young artists and their caregivers will learn all about art materials and best studio practices so that everyone who enters the studio can walk away with the enthusiasm and confidence to create at home.
