Art of Paper
AGES 13–17
5 Sessions
Instructor: Heather Beardsley
Looking at work by contemporary artists that push the limits of what paper can do as a material, young artists will learn new techniques and ways of thinking about how paper can be used to make art. Through processes like cutting, bending, and piercing, we will create three-dimensional layered drawings and sculptures using paper as our primary medium!

Cyanotypes
AGES 13–17
5 Sessions
Instructor: Heather Beardsley
When exposed to the sun, surfaces treated with the light-sensitive cyanotype solution reveal original prints in an intense shade of blue. The cyanotype process is simple, yet within that simplicity is ample room for experimentation! Together, we will go beyond images of plants and flowers on paper, as we learn to print images on other porous materials like fabric, stone, and wood using photo negatives, found objects, and hand-made sculptures.
