Explore the tactile art of working with clay! Gain a solid foundation in ceramic hand building and wheel throwing while creating unique works of sculptural and functional art. All works will be glazed and kiln fired to ensure their durability.

INTRODUCTION TO FIBER ARTS (MORNING)

Get familiar with a diverse range of traditional and non-traditional fiber and craft techniques that can be used to create images and collages on fabric. Practice hand embroidery, image transfer techniques, fabric collage, and sun printing with light-sensitive dyes!

Are you a teen who is curious about acrylic painting or looking to hone your skills? Practice a variety of traditional and contemporary painting techniques in acrylic as we cover basic color mixing, blending, texture, and contrast. Tips and tricks for tool selection and putting together an interesting composition will also be shared!

SCULPTURAL CASTING (AFTERNOON)

In the world of sculpture, plaster has endless potential as an art medium. It can be the only material the sculpture is made of or combined with other substances to create a mixed-media work of art. Learn all about the history and use of plaster as well as its applications in contemporary art as you construct your own forms using plaster and other casting materials!
