Get inspired by the art on view in our galleries, and work with a local artist to create your own circular weaving!

To start, we’ll take a look at the weather-inspired artworks of exhibiting Made in VA artist Meg Arsenovic and view images of various weather events in Virginia Beach.

We’ll study the vibrant colors seen on weather radar and learn how meteorologists use circles to show different types of weather events like hurricanes, cyclones, rain showers, and atmospheric pressure systems. Channeling inspiration from our scientific investigations, we’ll each create our own radar images with yarn and wool in the form of a circular weaving!
