Get inspired by the art on view in our galleries, and work with a local artist to create your own stuffed animal sculpture.

From finding inspiration to putting our ideas down on paper and eventually bringing them to life, participants will be guided through the entire artmaking process as they use fabric and stuffing to sculpt their own creative critter!

This program will begin with an engaging gallery walk to view soft sculpture animals by Made in VA exhibiting artist Ryan Lytle followed by a sensory-focused exploration of different types of textile media. Then, we’ll sketch out our ideas and practice some simple hand-sewing techniques before creating our own stuffed animal sculptures!
