Get inspired by the art on view in our galleries, and work with a local artist to create your own hand-printed fabric!

We’ll spend time investigating the work of exhibiting Made in VA artist Susan Lapham, then head back to the studios where we will learn about organic shapes and gel-printing. We’ll practice our scissor skills to cut out organic shapes from paper and will learn to create layers and texture with the gel-printing process.

To finish our work, we will activate our gel plate with a final layer of paint and place fabric on top. The most exciting part of this process is peeling away the fabric to reveal a striking, layered print of organic and overlapping shapes!
