LOOKING TO LEARN: ART & STORYTIME¬
Pattie Chalmers, Every Day I Think of You, 2019 (detail). Terracotta. Courtesy of the artist.
Join us each month as we look, learn, and make in response to themes from our current exhibitions. This virtual family program will include close-looking at artwork, reading of a storybook, and a making activity inspired by the theme. Looking to Learn encourages valuable social emotional skills that help children ages 3–8 build and develop greater empathy, understanding and respect for their peers and community.
This month we will look at Every Day I think of You by Pattie Chalmers from our exhibition Shaping Memories: Expressions in Clay, read the book Memory Jars by Vera Brosgol, and create a hanging sculpture that reminds us of a favorite memory.

SHAPING MEMORIES: Expressions in Clay
MAIN GALLERY
The power of memory is immeasurable. Individual recollections are the building blocks of our sense of self, while collective memories help define our culture. In this exhibition, six artists use clay to explore formative moments in their lives as well as stories passed down through generations, inviting viewers to consider both the uniqueness of every individual and our shared identities.
