Join us for a casual conversation exploring current exhibitions, led by Virginia MOCA staff and guest lecturers. This month we will be joined by Collector's Edition artist and collector pairing Carrie Coleman, collector, and Helena Wurzel, artist.

Carrie Coleman has an extensive background as an art dealer, having worked at renowned art galleries in Richmond and Philadelphia. In 2010, she founded Carrie Coleman Fine Art to fill the void of high-quality, affordable fine art in the Hampton Roads area. Coleman works directly with artists and with regional and national galleries to offer a wide variety of innovative and visually stunning works. In addition to working one on one with clients, Coleman enjoys helping interior designers find the right piece for their curated spaces.

Helena Wurzel is a painter living in Cambridge, MA. She received an MFA in painting from Boston University in 2007 and is a two-time recipient of Massachusetts Cultural Council Grants (2010 and 2016). Her work has been featured on the cover of New American Paintings, and in multiple campaigns with the designer Kate Spade, as well as in designer Jonathan Adler’s retail spaces in Los Angeles, Miami, and beyond. For 15 years, until 2022, Wurzel taught painting full-time in the Boston area. In 2023 she had a solo show at Praise Shadows Art Gallery in Brookline, MA. Wurzel’s work can also be found in private and corporate collections throughout the United States.
