The Virginia MOCA Boardwalk Art Show is a renowned outdoor art show held annually along the Virginia Beach boardwalk. As one of the longest-running art shows on the East Coast, it celebrates creativity by featuring exceptional works from artists across the country. The show has deep roots in the community, as Virginia MOCA itself grew out of this cherished event. What began as a local art show in 1952 has since evolved into the contemporary art museum known today, reflecting its dedication to inspiring and connecting through art.

Artist Prize Fund¬
Artists come from all over the country each year to showcase the highest caliber of fine art and contemporary craft along the Virginia Beach Boardwalk. During the show, following a rigorous judging process, the top standouts are recognized for their outstanding artistic talent. Artistic excellence is the criterion for selecting the awards. The Best in Show Award, sponsored by Joan Brock, will be $10,000 in 2025. The Artist Prize Fund varies each year, with approximately $20,000 total awarded.
The Artist Prize Fund reflects our community’s commitment to the arts and helps make the Boardwalk Art Show a premier destination for artists nationwide. Your donation directly supports both emerging and established artists—and all Prize Fund donors are invited to the Artists’ Awards Party to celebrate with artists, supporters, and art lovers.
