There are several volunteer opportunities in nearly every department at MOCA. Whether it's special events, docentry, art classes, or children's activities, there's a way for you to help at MOCA.

Events

Boardwalk Art Show & Festival

The 57th Anniversary is going to be the biggest and best Boardwalk Art Show yet! It's a great opportunity to spend time outdoors, meet the artists and see the show! Scroll down to the online volunteer form below and you will be contacted.

Gallery Teachers

MOCA's guided tours are becoming increasingly sought-after as an essential part of the elementary, middle and high school curricula. As demand for tours increases, so does MOCA's need for gallery teachers.

Join a group of bright, fun, creative and energetic individuals to do something great for your community and for yourself. Learn more about contemporary art and culture as you help visitors do the same using proven effective teaching practices that we help you master.

Initial training is offered 1-2 times each year. A new class will be starting soon. No prior art or education experience required, but it is very helpful. Click here for more information.

Admin

Helping out in our Administration offices is a great way to assist our MOCA staff on every day activities.

Internships

The Contemporary Art Center of Virginia currently is seeking a variety of interns on an ongoing basis. Interships are unpaid. Click below for details.
