NEA

National Endowment for the Arts

The National Endowment for the Arts was established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government. To date, the NEA has awarded more than $4 billion to support artistic excellence, creativity, and innovation for the benefit of individuals and communities. The NEA extends its work through partnerships with state arts agencies, local leaders, other federal agencies, and the philanthropic sector.

The mission of VCA is: to support and stimulate excellence in all of the arts, in their full cultural and ethnic diversity, in order to enhance the quality of life; to stimulate economic development; to support educational advancement; and, to make the arts accessible to all Virginians.

BCAS

Business Consortium for the Arts Support

The Business Consortium for Arts Support does just what its name implies. Through annual grants it helps arts and cultural groups meet the costs of running their organizations. The South Hampton Roads area in Virginia is proud to have an active and growing cultural community. The arts in this area reach audiences of more than 1 million people annually.
