Blind Date: A Master Class with Barnaby Barford
MOCA invites you to join exhibiting artist Barnaby Barford for a Master Class inspired by his artistic viewpoint. This unique and personal experience is a fabulous way for participants to have one-on-one interaction with an international contemporary artist.
In this workshop students will explore the use of ready-made and found objects in conjunction with conceptual thinking. Utilizing found objects that might otherwise be dismissed as a jumping off point, Barford will assist students in developing ideas that are interesting, exciting and thought provoking. Throughout the workshop students will learn processes and tips that will spark new ideas and inspirations to incorporate within their own work.
Students are required to bring a large selection of found objects (at least 10) that can be shared with the group. Having a large selection of items is essential to the workshop. These objects can be 2D or 3D, old or new, trash or antique, multiples or unique objects, mass produced or crafted objects, they may be mundane or not- think outside the box! Please note that this is an all-day workshop, so please bring a lunch. A light breakfast will be provided.
